SUMMARY:Folk101
DESCRIPTION:In this performance\, the early music ensemble Here Be Dragons will explore folk music performed in and around some of the main cultural centres in Europe during the 15th and 16th century. Frontman Jan-Hendrik Harley (baroque violin/baroque viola/baroque guitar) guides the audience through a bouquet of conceptual interpretations that highlight the other main theme of the evening: context in interpretation. Some of the many contexts explored during the performance will be modern folk performed as baroque art music\, traditional folk performed as baroque art music\, baroque art music performed as traditional folk music\, and modern art music performed as traditional folk music.
