SUMMARY:David Bowie Reworked
DESCRIPTION:This concert features works from the heyday of the iconic musician and entertainer David Bowie\, dubbed the “Chameleon of Rock” and a master of reinvention. The works are conceptually reimagined as baroque compositions – a nod to his ability to revamp his music and image numerous times over a long and illustrious career. The music has been arranged by Stellenbosch-based composer Jan-Hendrik Harley\, and will be performed on period instruments. The Bowie pieces will alternate with anonymous baroque works that reflect the recurring themes of angst\, fear and alienation found in Bowie’s music. \nWith: Ensemble Je Ne Comprends Pas – Jan-Hendrik Harley (violin\, guitar and direction)\, Joshua Frank (recorder and guitar)\, Mariechen Meyer (double bass) and John Pringle (percussion) \nTickets: R140 at the door/R120 online\nBookings: www.shows.alexanderbar.co.za\nEnquiries: 021 300 1652 / info@alexanderbar.co.za
