BACH IN DIALOGUE (Event 1 – 2026 Winter Baroque Season)
June 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
R100 – R280Event Navigation

The Cape Town Baroque Orchestra presents Bach in Dialogue, a program of chamber works by J.S. Bach (1685-1750) performed by Annien Shaw (baroque violin), Rosamund Roth (viola da gamba), and Leon Schelhase (harpsichord). In these sonatas and keyboard pieces, each contrapuntal line shares equal importance, creating a clear and expressive musical conversation. The programme ranges from the intensity of the C minor toccata for solo harpsichord and the brightness of the A and G major sonatas for violin and harpsichord, to the virtuosity and playfulness of the D major sonata for viola da gamba and obbligato harpsichord, highlighting Bach’s expressive range and rhetorical clarity.
Please join us for a complimentary glass of wine after the concert!
